Uninstall findr

You can remove findr anytime via the Windows Add/Remove Programs (for Windows XP), or Programs and Features (for Windows Vista/7) Control Panel applet. Once findr is removed, you may want to change your homepage or search defaults. The information below will help you change browser settings in Google Chrome Browser, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Change or remove findr as your homepage

Click on the image of the wrench in the upper right-hand corner of the address bar, view the “On Startup” options, choose "Open the New Tab page", "Continue where I left off", or click "Set pages", and enter a new URL to a page you would like to open alongside findr when Chrome is started, or remove "findr Search" by hovering your mouse over the entry and clicking the X that appears.

Change or remove findr as your default search provider

Click on the image of the wrench in the upper right-hand corner of the address bar, look for the "Search" heading, click "Manage search engines", choose an existing search engine, or add a new search engine. You can delete “findr Search” from the list of engines by hovering your mouse over an existing entry and clicking the "Make default" button that shows up, then hover your mouse over findr to delete its entry.

Change or remove findr as your address (URL) bar search provider

Click on the image of the wrench in the upper right-hand corner of the address bar, look for the "Search" heading, click "Manage search engines", choose an existing search engine, or add a new search engine. You can delete “findr Search” from the list of engines by hovering your mouse over an existing entry and clicking the "Make default" button that shows up, then hover your mouse over findr to delete its entry.

How to change or remove the findr Search “new tab page”

To disable findr as a new tab search page, you must disable the extension from the Extension Manager or uninstall findr from Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and Features (Windows Vista/7).

Change or remove findr as your homepage

Click on the image of the gear on the right-hand side of the address bar, choose “Internet options”, remove the findr search entry or add additional URLs to sites you would like to launch at startup. You can also choose: "Use current", "Use default", or "Use blank".

Change or remove findr as your default search provider

Click on the image of the gear on the right-hand side of the address bar, choose “Internet options”, under “Change search defaults” click “Settings”. Click on “Search with findr” and click ‘Remove’, or click on another search engine and click “Set as default”.

Change or remove findr as your address (URL) bar search provider

Click on the image of the gear on the right-hand side of the address bar, choose “Internet options”, under “Change search defaults” click “Settings”. Click on “Search with findr” and then uncheck “Search in the address bar” in the bottom left-hand side of the Window.

How to change or remove the findr Search “new tab page”

Click on the image of the gear on the right-hand side of the address bar, choose “Internet options”, click “Settings” next to the text “Change how webpages are displayed in tabs”. Under “When a new tab is opened, open:” entry, click the down arrow and choose the setting you would like to use.
